Board Plan Cancellation Policy:
Board Plan changes (from one plan type to another) may only be made during the
first week of the semester. Changes cease on the Friday after Registration each
semester.
Students who are not required to be on a board plan may cancel their board
plan through the third week of the semester, and will only be charged for the
number of weeks he/she was on the board plan (partial weeks will be
rounded up to the next full week) and refunded the rest of the board fee.
After the third week of the semester, the student will receive no refund on the remaining portion of the board plan.
Residence Hall Cancellation Policy:
The $100 Housing Deposit you paid upon enrollment serves as both a reservation fee and contractual guarantee.
Residence Hall Term refers to those halls that close at the end of every break, Driscoll, Presidents, West, South and Baca Halls.
Apartment Term refers
to those halls or apartments that are open year round: Altamirano Hall, Guest House, Desert Willow, and Mountain Springs Apartments.
Residence Hall Terms
1. The Residence Hall Term
is not the same as the semester term. The Residence Hall Term
begins on the first day that the halls are open for occupancy. See the
Term Schedule for these dates, as they
change every semester.
2. The Cancellation Deadlines
are June 1st for Fall and December 1st for
Spring. Students who cancel their agreement before these dates will
receive no penalty.
3. Students who cancel their contract after the
deadline will be charged according to the schedule below:
Between the cancellation deadline and the beginning of the Residence Hall Term, the student will be charged a $250 fee for breaking their contract. The student's $100 Housing Deposit will be released into the student’s account.
Room cancellations made after the beginning of the Residence Hall Term will receive a refund based on the following schedule. The $100 Housing Deposit will be released to the student's account.
Refund
70% during the first week of term
60% during the second week of term
50% during the third week of term
40% during the fourth week of term
30% during the fifth week of term
0% during & after the sixth week of term
Students with extenuating circumstances for canceling the residence hall agreement must submit in writing to the Residential Life Office to request a waiver of contract break fee and/or waiver of refund schedule.
Apartment Terms
1. The Apartment Term is not the same as the semester term. The Apartment Term begins on the first day that the Apartments are open for occupancy. See the Term Schedule for these dates, as they change every semester.2. The Cancellation Deadlines are June 1st for Fall, December 1st for Spring, and May 1st for Summer. Students who cancel their agreement before these dates will receive no financial penalty.
