Network services, what's available!

Our Residential Computing Network (RCN) offers Internet and Internet2 to all students living in Tech sponsored housing. In order to ensure your connection is as reliable as possible our network is constantly monitored by ISD staff and technical support is available for setting up your PC.  The Tech Computer Center is completely separate from ISD - ISD offers Internet and TCC offers email and general campus computing facilities.

Policy on Computer Usage

All prospective users of the Residential Computing Network (RCN), will be required to sign a document stating that they have read, and understand the RCN Policy.

Since your TCC email is our primary means of communication, you must have a TCC email account for the length of your connection. If we find that it was closed or terminated, your port will be disabled until the account is reactivated. Please see the TCC website for more information. Or call (505) 835-5437.

Please also beware that you are responsible for your own virus protection see virus information below.

Virus information:

ISD recommends installing the antivirus software of your choice. Make certain that your antivirus software provides updates to the latest virus threats and that these updates are regularly applied. You may also consider using personal firewall software for your own PC. As individual threats appear, our dedicated staff will provide support, containment, and information to the best of our ability. For more information, please contact ISD at (505) 835-5700 or email rcn@nmt.edu.

Billing:

Your RCN connection is billed to your student account in one of two methods: connections in Tech-sponsored apartments are billed at a monthly rate, while connections in our dormitories are billed once each semester. These fees are payable at the Cashier's Office or by using Banweb https://banweb.nmt.edu.
