TITLE Sr. Staff Scientist/Polar Projects Field Eng. DEPT IRIS/PASSCAL
REG þ FULL TIME þ STARTING RATE or SALARY RANGE $50,856 - $63,586
JOB DUTIES: Primary responsibility is to support Polar research both in the field and in the lab. Duties include: scheduling, shipping, receiving, inventory of equipment; field support in the Arctic and Antarctic; development of specialized equipment for cold, dark environments; produce and maintain documentation and web content related to Polar support; and user training. Installation and maintenance of wireless telemetry. Field support of seismological experiment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Engineering required OR 3 years direct applicable experience. Field data collection systems desired. Wireless communications, installation, and network design desired. DC power systems desired. Time series data forms desired. Seismological field experience desired.
