POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT TITLE RESEARCH ENGINEER I DEPT EMRTC
REG þ FULL TIME þ
STARTING RATE or SALARY RANGE $33,987.20 - $42,473.60 Employees being promoted to a higher classified position receive the minimum for the position or a pay rate adjustment of 8% whichever is greater.
JOB DUTIES: Assists in test planning and execution of tests and in the preparation of reports; the Engineer I will learn about and will be given the opportunity to practice, the various test techniques and instrumentation used at EMRTC; including learning about Flash x-ray, sky screens. Doppler radar operation, small scale cook-off, high speed cameras, test instrumentation, ballistics, data acquisition techniques, data analysis and test management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering or related field with a strong math background. Working knowledge of PC's and Microsoft Office Software required. Experience with Data Acquisition Instrumentation and Software required. Experience with Test Range Style Testing –two years minimum required. Experience with 3D modeling and CAD programs required. Must have a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Positions employed at EMRTC are subject to a pre-employment drug screen. An offer of employment for this position is conditional on successfully passing the pre-employment drug screen. Transcripts are required for consideration.
