POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

TITLE: Property Clerk                              DEPT:   Playas Training Center/EMRTC

STARTING RATE or SALARY RANGE:  $10.29

JOB DUTIES:

Plan and implement a public auction of institute owned property with the assistance of a property supervisor.  Document all property for public auction on forms provided.  As needed, rearrange the auction yard by sorting like items together, use of forklift on an as need basis.  Physically locate and document all items on PTRC and NMT inventory lists.  This involves walking, bending and lifting.  Compile, monitor and update records of amount, kind and value of equipment, materials and stock on hand at PTRC.  Monitors all incoming equipment, materials and stock to process appropriate paperwork and to enter into inventory records.  Ensure that PTRC and NMT property tags are assigned and attached to all equipment, materials and stock.  Completes and forwards all appropriate paperwork to EMRTC and NMT Property Control offices. Conducts physical inventories to account for equipment, material and stock on hand on a scheduled basis.  Conducts physical property inspections on all buildings at the PTRC regarding items at each location and current status with contractors on the facility.  Ensures proper disposal of all unnecessary equipment and material according to all Federal, State and University Procedures.  Maintain on site PTRC inventory spreadsheets.  Perform property control and recordkeeping in accordance with applicable State and Federal requirements under the guidelines provided by the Institute Property Committee, PTRC management and the Institutes property control manual. Performs accurate and timely completion of paperwork regarding Federal excess property as required.  Physically researches and delivers the annual State and Federal departmental inventory reports.  Assists the Business Manager in reviewing requisitions/purchase orders submitted to the purchase office.  Determines items to be capitalized by the Institute, and if necessary, change the object code to comply with State and Federal regulations regarding equipment purchases. Analyze, reconcile and correct errors in accounting transactions involving equipment.  Assist  Business Manager on as needed basis with inventory control as pertaining to use of PTRC facility. Any functions needed within the Business Office and Auxiliary Services areas as instructed by Business Manager.  Other duties as assigned. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have High school (or GED) level ability in spelling, grammar, basic composition and math.  Desktop Personal computer  including Microsoft Excel, WORD, Outlook required.  Fax and copy machine experience required.  Minimum of two (2) years experience in inventory desired. 10 key adding machine desired.  Forklift operator desired.  Must have a valid drivers license.  Certification for forklift operation is required after employment OJT will be offered.  Security Clearance required.
