JOB DUTIES:
Manages
group of systems programmers and projects. Serves as senior system
programmer.
Serves as
system administrator for five OSs. Designs new computer configurations.
Prototypes new computer configurations.
Designs new
network configurations. Prototypes new network configurations. Plans for
expansion of computers and networks.
Ensures, daily,
that all computer serves work and investigates anomalies in computers and nets.
Generates
computer billings.
On call seven
days a week, 24 hours a day for problems.
Substitutes for
the Director in his absence. Works on special projects. Trains staff. Writes
documentation. Installs new software and upgrades.
Consults with
faculty regarding department computers. Provides senior technical expertise to
rest of department.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's
degree in Computer Science or related field required. Programming, systems
administration, programming, C and Perl programming and network protocol
experience required. UNIX, LINUX, SOLARIS required. MS Windows, MAC, OS-X
desired.
