POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
TITLE GOLF CART MECHANIC DEPT GOLF SHOP REG þ PART TIME þ
STARTING RATE or SALARY RANGE $11.32 JOB DUTIES: Maintains a fleet of gasoline and electric golf carts for the golf course while actively implementing New Mexico Tech’s strategic plan objectives. Daily Maintenance on golf carts which include electric cable cleaning, adjusting tire pressure, repairing flat tires, and preparation for rental. Long term maintenance on golf carts which includes oil changing, rotation of tires, cleaning and replacement of fuel filters, and steering wheel and brake linkage adjustment. Preventative maintenance which includes waxing of carts, front and rear end lube, adjustment and replacement of brakes and pads, inspection of drive unit, transmission engine, and fuel system for leaks, and checking water levels of batteries. Maintains records of performed maintenance on personal computer, inputs data into software programs, maintains inventory of parts on computer, and orders parts as necessary. Troubleshooting of golf carts to determine what is wrong with vehicles and determine why vehicles are not performing properly. General cleaning of work areas. Sweeps and cleans work areas. Brings carts to Pro Shop for rental. Work as golf shop clerk in times of need.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to read and comprehend instructions, write information and complete simple forms. High school (or GED) level ability in spelling, grammar, basic composition and math required. 6 Months mechanical maintenance required. Past experience as golf cart mechanic desired. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with supervisors. Past experience with computer system desired. Must have a valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
