POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT TITLE ASSISTANT PROFESSOR DEPT PETROLEUM ENGINEERING
REG þ FULL TIME þ STARTING RATE or SALARY RANGE $60,000-$65,000
JOB DUTIES & REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Department at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology invites applications for the John Kelly/Alumni Endowed tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related discipline and demonstrate expertise through scholarly publications, research and/or work experience. Evidence of teaching excellence, good communication skills and participation in professional activities will be considered in the selection process. Registered or eligible to register as a professional engineer in the state of New Mexico is desirable but not required. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and must demonstrate the potential to develop research projects and supervise graduate students. It is anticipated the candidate will obtain external research funding and continue to publish scholarly work.
