POSITION ANNOUNCEMENTTITLE ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY II DEPT STATE MINE INSPECTOR REG þ FULL TIME þ STARTING RATE or SALARY RANGE $9.71-$12.14
JOB DUTIES: Provides primary administrative support to the Bureau of Mine Safety. Maintains databases, keeps department files, and arranges training schedules, acts as a receptionist and reviews cost statements and checks against actual records. General office work, verifies cost accounting actual expenditures, maintains data base information, schedules training, provides general administrative support for office, field and SMI activities. Schedules Mine safety training, maintains base of mine operators, maintains data base for mine certification exams, other duties as assigned by supervisor, prepares miner certification exam and maintains data base of certified mine officials, acts as secretary for Mine Safety Board business and meetings, and assist SMI with legislative issues.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree or completion of program of 18+ months after high school in liberal arts, information technology, science, engineering technology, accounting or business required. Must have five years experience utilizing communications skills such as answering phones, utilizing Outlook email and written correspondence. Excellent computer skills with two years experience with all facets of Microsoft Office required. Six months of note taking skills with the ability to provide meeting notes transcribed from tape or written during meetings required. Working knowledge of DreamWeaver 4 software desired. One year of utilizing accounting skills including spreadsheets and expenditure review desired.
