Single Axle Dump Truck & Loader
Training Course Single
Axle Dump Truck and Loader Training was developed at New Mexico
Tech to train individual s in the fundamentals of heavy equipment
operations. It will provide those with the background, insight,
and practice that is necessary in the construction industry.
This
program is open to employees of all public agencies with road
construction or maintenance responsibilities. The class size is
limited to ensure that the student receives the best educational
experience possible. The student will have the traditional
classroom experience that will prepare them for the operation of
dump truck and loader vehicles. We also provide several acres for
the student to have hands on road experience.

Objectives:
After completing this
course, the student should be able to operate a single axle dump
truck and loader safely and perform the jobs listed in Student
Objectives.
Student
Objectives:
- Perform preventive maintenance
on single axle dump truck.
- Start up a single axle dump
truck.
- Shift a single axel dump truck-5
speed standard with 2 speed axle, and automatic.
- Maneuver truck through cones
forward and reverse.
- Dump material at a designated
depth in a given area.
- Shut down a single axle dump
truck.
- Perform preventive maintenance
on the front end loader.
- Start up and shut down a loader.
- Work a stockpile following basic
safety procedures.
- Load a single axle dump truck
smoothly and safely.

Course
Information:
The class is one week
in length and taught by in-house staff instructors at New Mexico
Tech's Technical Training Center in Socorro. It is 32 hours of
instruction and costs $700.
