The Office of Academic Affairs is charged with the management of the College Division of New Mexico Tech, and serves as a meeting point for faculty and students. It is headed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. All faculty members and departments, the Dean of Graduate Students, the Registrar, the Advising Resource Center, the Computer Center, the Library, Educational Outreach/Distance Instruction, and all Academic Departments are associated with the Office for Academic Affairs.

Kathy Hedges assists Dr. Jeffrey Altig with his hood prior to the start of Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 16. Altig, an assistant professor with the Department of Chemistry, was given the Distinguished Teaching Award for 2009.
