The Office of Academic Affairs is charged with the management of the College Division of New Mexico Tech, and serves as a meeting point for faculty and students. It is headed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. All faculty members and departments, the Dean of Graduate Students, the Registrar, the Computer Center, the Library, Educational Outreach/Distance Instruction, all Academic Departments are associated with the Office for Academic Affairs.

Promotion to Full Professor 2008

Promotion to Full Professor

These three faculty were promoted from Associate Professor to full Professor at the April 15 meeting of the New Mexico Tech Board of Regents: Professor Bhasker Majumdar, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering; Professor Mark Cal, Civil and Environmental Engineering; and Professor Hamdy Soliman, Computer Science.

Regents at their March meeting granted tenure for Associate Professor of Physics, Dr. Peter Hofner (far right); as well as promotion to Associate Professor and tenure for six former assistant professors: Dr. Scott Shors, Biology; Dr. Sue Bilek, Geophysics; Dr. John Starret, Math; Dr. Michelle Creech-Eakman, Physics; Dr. Wim Steelant, Chemistry; and (not pictured) Dr. Enrique Vivoni, Hydrology.
